Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: First Steps for CPD Providers

Diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education refer to the breaking down of systemic barriers that prevent the full participation of educators and learners from underrepresented groups. We are on a research project together and Morag had offered to draft a positionality statement, a practice that is becoming more common in academia. Positionality refers to where each one of us is located in relation to our various social identities, which include lived and learned experience, gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, ability, socio-economic status, geographic location and socio-political history.
