Dear Colleagues,
In this special issue, the CE News’ editorial team is delighted to present you with the proceedings of the SACME 2022 Annual Meeting, February 21-23. Were you amazed by the quality of the work presented? The Planning Committee, under the leadership of Tym Peters, has certainly raised the bar with a program rich, diverse, and thought-provoking. Some of the Annual Meeting highlights include:
- Inspirational keynote speakers:
- Michele Harper, MD (From child trauma to a transcendent healthful self)
- Stuart Slavin, MD (Reclaiming agency in an out-of-control world)
- Brenda Bursch, PhD (Finding the path back to meaning and joy)
- James Makokis, MD (Indigenous health—probably the best session we have ever attended on this topic)
- Technology to improve CPD education by the new Technology Enhanced CPD Working Group
- A panel discussion on fostering a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion
- Nearly 100 oral sessions and poster presentations
- 2022 Distinguished Service in CME Award: Don Moore PhD
This annual meeting also marks the end of Betsy Williams’ term as SACME President as she passes the torch to David Wiljer for the next two years. CE News’ editorial team is very grateful for her support as we transitioned from a traditional newsletter to a dynamic digital format with standing column editors. Our goal remains to inspire and enhance the work of SACME members and we hope this issue will serve you as a guide to further reflect on the brilliant work presented during the conference.
Warm regards,
Robert and Martin
