An important goal of the SACME 2024 meeting was to build community among the membership. To achieve this, the Planning Committee assured the agenda included ample time for our members to enjoy the lovely San Diego venue by hosting a variety of group social activities. Members were treated to a classic S’Mores roast; a dog-petting session; yoga and dance; delicious dinners hosted by Board members; quiet walks along the beautiful harbor; and time to just laugh over coffee with friends and colleagues. While the meeting’s academic and learning goals were as robust as in prior years, perhaps the 2024 meeting distinguishes itself with an emphasis on fostering our SACME community with ample opportunities for recreation and reflection, while enjoying the beautiful San Diego environs.
